Our home is ruled by a group of retirees—Rosey
& Valerie who are going to be 10 soon and Claire who is 9. All but Claire are finished champions (Claire decided after winning a 5-point major and several single points that she was not “into” the show thing). Rosey & Valerie are truly the granddames—they get the best places on the
sofa in the family room and are first in line for t
he treats. But Claire snags the most treats! She
is super fast. They are accepting of the new pups —but they are “done” babysitting… it is sorta
“you wanted them now you raise them!”
Each has given us everything we asked of
them —championships, pups, playing with grandchildren, playing dress-up (even if they hated it) and asked for so little back. There is nothing better than a scottie. They fill our life
with fun and companionship and our heart
with love.
This year our Abby crossed over the Rainbow Bridge—and took a piece of our heart with her that day. The hardest part of having a Scottie is having to say goodbye. No matter how old they are—they are never with us long enough!
