I am originally from Connecticut. My parents bought our first Scottie in the mid 1960’s. Duchess, I am positive, was from puppy mill in the Midwest. She was a wonderful, loving pet for our family but she took guarding us very seriously. Any outsider foolish enough to try to pet her was quickly bitten. But we got hooked on the breed. We had a series of backyard bred and puppy store Scotties and finally in 1996 we bought our first show dog. He hooked us on showing and was our “heart” dog!

Looking to buy our foundation bitch, I contacted Margo Park at Thistlepark and bought Rosey, Ch. Thistlepark Rose of the Moment. Rosey finished her championship with 4 majors and was BOS at Westminster. With Rosey’s breeding it was the start of a successful breeding partnership and close friendship between PJScot and Thistepark. Margo is part of our family. How lucky am I to have a mentor with such high standards?

In our “real” life Phil and I own Phil’s Fish Market & Eatery in Moss Landing. We have three children and six incredible grandchildren.

We are members of the Scottish Terrier Club of America, Scottish Terrier Club of California, San Francisco Bay Scottish Scottish Terrier Club and Scottish Terrier Club of Tampa Bay.
